Memorial Day Parade

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Memorial Day committee of Western Springs, is proud and honored to share the news for the 2019 Memorial Day Parade, for a unique and wonderful break from all previous years. Parade history has always featured one Grand Marshall (GM). For 2019, the parade will feature several GM’s- all WW II VETERANS! Yes, America’s greatest generation will be honored.
Our parade committee realized our fellow veterans from the WW II era represent a chapter in history that is unlike any other period in America’s history. The committee unanimously agreed on how wonderful an opportunity for the Western Springs community to participate and express a common appreciation for those who sacrificed their lives and for those living WW II hero’s.
The VFW chapter 10778, extend an invitation to all WW II Veterans to come to our parade in Western Springs, IL, to be honored for their service to our Country. “Come one, Come all.” Please share this story with everyone you know and save the date, May 27, 2019.
